NYSTER

Conditions Reports

26APR2026

I was out riding part of the NYSTER yesterday between Richfield Springs and New Berlin breaking in some new tires that I mounted on Friday (MEFO Super Explorer & TKC80). A bit of mud and water through Hartwick State Forest and Texas Schoolhouse State Forest, but nothing too bad. Overall that section is in good shape.

Finally finished updating the NYSTER with a new 73 mile section southwest of Oneonta. This is a good mix of dirt and pavement going almost to Binghamton. The new section is added to the “Main Route” and the north-south section that goes through New Berlin is now referred to as the “New Berlin Cutoff” in the GPX file.

So the entire route is now 616 miles total (Main Route = 554 miles, New Berlin Cuttoff = 62 miles).

BLUE = PAVEMENT

BROWN = DIRT
